    2020 Labor & Employment Law Update: What Your Company Needs to Know in 2020

    Join John Baker & Kelley Kaufman of McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC for an update on recent developments and trends in labor and employment law, with compliance guidance to prepare your company for 2020.  Topics will include regulatory activity (including the new overtime regs, notable court decisions and what they mean for your business, navigating medical marijuana in the workplace, and more.  This program is designed to help HR professionals stay on top of changes in employment law that may affect their policies, procedures and practices in 2020.

     

    John Baker is the Member in Charge of the State College office of
    McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC. John is a member of the Firm’s Labor and
    Employment and Healthcare Groups. His practice also regularly involves
    representing clients in matters before administrative agencies and in state
    and federal court.John regularly advises public and private employers on labor and employment matters, including compliance with state and federal
    employment laws, contract compliance and labor relations. He also
    counsels employers on the hiring and discharge of key employees, wage
    and hour issues, employment policies, labor negotiations, and collective
    bargaining. In addition to providing counsel on employment matters, he
    also advises healthcare and other non-profit entities on compliance with
    state and federal law and corporate governance. John is a frequent speaker for various human resource and employer groups throughout the state.
    John is a native of Centre County and resides in State College.


    Kelley Kaufman regularly defends clients before the Equal Employment OpportunityCommission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, as well as in
    employment-related litigation in federal and state court.
    Kelley also provides day-to-day counseling to employers on a wide
    range of labor and employment law topics, including issues relating to
    compliance with federal and state employment discrimination laws, wage
    and hour obligations, family and medical leave, employee relations, noncompete and separation agreements, employee performance management, unemployment compensation, employee benefits, litigation avoidance, and more. In addition, Kelley frequently conducts training for clients, contributes to McNees’ Pennsylvania Labor & Employment blog, and participates in multiple speaking engagements each year.
